Out On Blue Six is going on a short spiritual retreat, though not to that place where Scott Walker was besieged by screaming monks. Normal service will be resumed shortly; for now, keep reading Talk About The Passion, and don't fall for any tosspot conmen wrapped in orange curtains. Or indeed anyone claiming to be 'Uncle'.

There goes Out On Blue Six. And here comes...?

I Disown My Bagpuss

Thanks to everyone who's joined in with the madness this week... now it's time to reveal just what these mysterious barely-remembered programmes actually were. Here's the full rundown, written before this started and not at all in the style of the TV Cream A-Z, honest. Please don't sue me, nice Mr Steve Berry's Lawyer Man...

How Do You Do!
Carmen Monroe-led proto-multicultural 'pre-school' activity interactivity.

Four On The Floor
'Nerd'-festooned Kids In The Hall-prefiguring Canuck sketch show lateralism beloved of late night Channel 4.

The Top Hat Rabbits
Hat-dwelling Eastern Bloc-animated lupine employment-hunters backed by infuriating electric piano motif.

Sticks And Stones
Heavy-handed allegorically racism-broaching CBBC one-off with customary 'frank' language.

Skip & Fuffy
Swap Shop-bookended post-Trumpton sub-Rushton drollery from Gordon Murray.

Hands
Tradicraft sharpening-wheel-centric afternoon filler with overliteral title sequence.

The Outsiders
Forgotten seventies 'Zen Outback' action series with multi-million-decibel theme song.

Play It Safe!
"Senior Guys'n'Gals - Jimmy Savile OBE says 'Hold Tight, Falls Can Kill!'"

Juice
None-more-1986 Huey Lewis 'n Anita Baker-obsessed pop video and interview show of BBC2 Friday night half-rememberedness.

King Greenfingers
Minimalist oddball animation about gardening-obsessed Royal, introduced by mental Derek Griffiths vocalising and presented as part of Playbus' Patch Stop by the swoonsome Vanessa Amberleigh.

Under The Same Sky
Wordless round-the-world filmed stories narrated by The Book Tower's Tom Baker. ON COCAINES.

Over The Moon
Studiobound last gasp of Watch With Mother.

The Fire Raiser!
Antipodean turn-of-the-century piano-arson-themed thriller with thumping John Cale-esque theme music.

Never Kiss Frogs
Sophie Aldred narrates quirky tales of romance in extreme close-up.

Falcon Island
Frighteningly curly-topped youngsters from Down Under have nondescript adventures in remote fishing village.

Billy's Christmas Angels
Eighties sci-fi star-dominated cast in heartwarming Yuletide yarn about a stolen guitar.

The Prom
Bullied American teens enjoy snog-fuelled day-winning, to the audible consternation of Phillip Schofield.

Sex!
Half-remembered people from Neighbours and Home & Away poke fun at morals in the hope of increasing condom-sporting.

The Gublins
More Swap Shop-filling tall-talery from Gordon Murray.

Children Of Fire Mountain
Slow-moving hokum about outlawed 'grog' being sold to Maoris, ace theme tune.

Ring-A-Ding
Neu!-esque ultra-miminalism from a bare studio-occupying Griffiths.

Thomas
Dimly recalled Watch With Mother youngster who wasn't much cop at tidying up.

Xerxes
Magisterial imported comedy drama about a contest to accrue knicker tags.

The Secret Of Steel City
'It could happen!' sci-fi grimness about ficitious warring Eastern Bloc states.

Hey, It's My Birthday Too!
Youngsters sharing a birthday with ITV get quacking synth-heralded greetings from avuncular continuity announcer.

The Flying Kiwi
Directionless toss about vintage car.

The Amazing Years Of Cinema
Inappropriately named Douglas Fairbanks 'Junior' watches old films of people in biplanes.

Stainless Steel & The Star Spies
Post-Muppet sci-fi comedy with Carry On-leanings that never made it to a series.

Primetime
Pioneering Daytime On BBC1 magazine show for the 'older viewer'; Modern Jazz very much to the fore.

Ticket To Ride
Pulaski-aping Cazenvoe-driven travel show postmoderism run amok.

And the one that never existed? As identified correctly by - who else? - Phil Norman, it was Here's Stilgoe...

I Still Believe In Father Bagpuss

Well, apart from a complete list of episode titles for The Children Of Fire Mountain, all new that's come to light in the past twenty four hours is an extremely hazy recollection of The Secret Of Steel City. Well, not to worry, as tomorrow all will be revealed and you'll be able to find out exactly what all of these mysterious shows were. Except...

...one of them never existed in any way, shape or form, and has just been made up as a cunning red herring (or 'McFlurry', as the film world insists on calling them). Can you work out which one it is? Get your guesses in now!

And, for hoax-deducing purposes, here's that full list again:

How Do You Do!

Bagpuss Doesn't Live Here Any More

And the hazy, fragmentary bits of additional information keep on rolling in!:

- Falcon Island was possibly made in New Zealand rather than Australia, but it did indeed feature a cracking theme tune that was quite at odds with how dull the programme itself was. And oh to find a copy of said theme tune...

- Juice was a mid-eighties BBC2 pop show presented by Magenta DeVine

- The Top Hat Rabbits was Czechoslovakian animation redubbed by Rodney Bewes

- The Fire Raiser was a New Zealand-made children's serial about plucky youngsters thwarting a serial arsonist

- Never Kiss Frogs did indeed begin as a special episode of Jackanory (although it later had a life of its own...)

- Billy's Christmas Angels was an all-star (well, featuring people out of Doctor Who, The Tripods and The Comic Strip Presents..., alongside chat show-friendly acapella troupe The Mint Juleps, but as the eighties go that was pretty 'all-star') heartwarming rock'n'roll-themed Christmas drama

- Stainless Steel And The Star Spies was an inexplicable collision of puppetry, On The Buses veterans, and, erm, the people who brought you Minder

Can you - yes, you! - help provide any more detail on the above? Or indeed on How Do You Do!, Thomas, Ring-A-Ding, Over The Moon, Play It Safe!, Under The Same Sky, Hands, The Flying Kiwi or Four On The Floor?

As for the still-unspoken-for shows from the original list, in the hope of ringing some very faint bells with at least one other person in the universe, here's a quick rundown of what persuaded this writer to watch them all in the first place:

Sticks And Stones - New Year ennui and haphazard 'Holiday Season' scheduling
Skip & Fuffy - addiction to larger containing 'Umbrella' show
The Outsiders - finely-tuned sense of teenage irony
King Greenfingers - infatuation with Vanessa 'Amber Leigh' Leigh
The Prom - reports of Phillip Schofield sounding shocked
Here's Stilgoe - unealthy levels of exposure to Nationwide
Sex! - failure to understand that Channel 4 imported 'shockers' always promised more than they delivered
The Gublins - ironically, remembering Skip & Fuffy
Children Of Fire Mountain - initially lack of anything on ITV, and much later Sunday Morning pastoral Channel Surfing tempered with impatience while waiting for The Owl Service
Xerxes - realisation that Channel 4 delivered the imported goods in far more unlikely-seeming places
The Secret Of Steel City - Doctor Who withdrawal symptoms and nuclear paranoia
Hey, It's My Birthday Too! - because it bloody well was
The Amazing Years Of Cinema - the hilarious title sequence
Primetime - the novelty of early Daytime On BBC1

The Bagpuss Who Wasn't There

Wow, what a great response thus far! Between them, various posters have started the ball rolling on the following shows:

- How Do You Do!, Thomas, Ring-A-Ding and Over The Moon were all Watch With Mother shows, How Do You Do! being presented by Carmen Monroe and Ring-A-Ding by Derek Griffiths

- Play It Safe! was a guide to child safety presented by Jimmy Savile

- Under The Same Sky was a collection of folk tales from around the word, devised by Pat Keysell of Vision On fame

- Hands was an arts and crafts show made by Ireland's RTE

- The Flying Kiwi was made in New Zealand

- Four On The Floor was an extremely funny Canadian sketch show, and the ace I Sell Computers sketch can be seen here

If you've got any further detail to add to any of the above, or indeed if you can identify the correct show that went under the banner Ticket To Ride (clue: it had nothing to do with Cheggers), then please do so in the Comments box. As for the as-yet-unclaimed shows, here's a list of two-word pointers associated with them:

The Top Hat Rabbits - repetitive music
Sticks And Stones - heavy-handed 'issues'
Skip & Fuffy - cringeworthy puns
The Outsiders - Outback existentialism
Juice - Huey Lewis
King Greenfingers - Griffiths yodelling
The Fire Raiser! - piano arson
Never Kiss Frogs - pouty Aldred
Falcon Island - seafront tedium
Billy's Christmas Angels - Nabil Shaban
The Prom - gastank underfilling
Here's Stilgoe - topical panelists
Sex! - Paske moral-satirising
The Gublins - Murray folktales
Children Of Fire Mountain - Maori patronisation
Xerxes - Scandanavian knickerhunting
The Secret Of Steel City - Coldwar Sci-fi
Hey, It's My Birthday Too! - regional salutations
The Amazing Years Of Cinema - Fairbanks biplane-overload
Stainless Steel & The Star Spies - Guyler-toned puppetry
Primetime - pensionable vibraphone

Bagpuss Who?

It's Theme Week on Out On Blue Six. Or possibly just Theme Couple Of Days Until It Becomes Blatantly Clear That Nobody's Really That Interested, But We'll Have A Go Anyway. Here is a list of TV programmes that are vividly recalled here at Out On Blue Six Towers, but seemingly forgotten entirely by just about everyone else in the world. And it's up to you, the readers, to confirm they existed by chipping in with memories, bizarre facts dredged up from Lord knows where, or even - gasp! - visual evidence. But there's a catch, which will become apparrent later... So, let TV Not-Remembering Commence!
